India's star T20I batter and KKR's Rinku Singh recently revisited one of Rohit Sharma's most iconic innings, which was a record-shattering 190-run partnership that rescued India from a precarious position against Afghanistan in 2024.

Their fifth-wicket stand, India's highest for any wicket in T20Is, propelled the team from 22/4 to a formidable 212/4, setting the stage for a thrilling super-over victory in Bengaluru. Ahead of India's Asia Cup 2025 opener, a clip from Rinku Singh's podcast appearance has gone viral, offering a glimpse into why Rohit Sharma is revered as one of the game's modern greats.

Rinku Reveals Rohit's Calmness Behind the Record Stand

Speaking on the Raj Shamani podcast, Rinku Singh described how unfazed Rohit Sharma was with the bat while playing the historic knock.

"When I batted with Rohit bhaiya, the way he was hitting the ball, there's definitely something special about him. No matter how fast the bowler is or how quick the pace is, it doesn't affect him at all. These bowlers bowl so fast, at 150 kmph, it’s not that easy to hit them. But Rohit bhai plays them so easily," Rinku recounted.

Elaborating on Rohit's aura and how they handled the situation during the partnership, Rinku Singh revealed surprising details.

"There wasn’t really any conversation happening; he was focused on his batting, and I was on mine. We hardly spoke in between. I usually talk very little while batting," Rinku added.

Rinku On Rohit’s Leadership

Rinku also shed light on Rohit Sharma's dual nature as a captain, a leader who generally maintained composure but would not hesitate to show his intensity when the situation demanded it.

The Mumbai-born legend retired from T20Is after 159 matches, amassing 4,231 runs at an average of 32.05. His career was crowned by leading India to an ICC T20 World Cup victory, cementing his legacy as one of the country's most successful captains.
