Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan has finally broken the silence after signing the mega trade deal of Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson on November 15.

Ahead of the retentions at 5:00 PM IST, Saturday morning, IPL's official website saw the mega trade list revealed and the most prominent one was the trade between Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson.

Viswanathan was expressive with his thoughts when he shared the decision's impact on the franchise and the fanbase.

Kasi reveals Jadeja saw an opportunity in leaving!

While speaking to CSK's official website, Kasi shared that it was a strategic and necessary move that left 'Jaddu' out in the open to fill the Indian top-order in the lineup.

"The team management felt the need of a top-order Indian batsman and since not many Indian batsmen are going to be available at the auction, we thought that the best way is to get an Indian top-order batsman will be to go through the trade window and hence we had to take this call and this decision has been taken by the team management and it is a very tough decision leaving out Jaddu who has been responsible for the success of CSK over the years," Viswanathan said.

Viswanathan however, shared that Ravindra Jadeja was called and consulted before the decision was take. Kasi stressed that it was a mutual decision and agreed by the star Indian all-rounder who is currently playing the ongoing IND vs SA 1st test.

"When I spoke to Jadeja, he was also very clear that if there is an opportunity for him... because he felt he is at the fag end of his white-ball career, he can have a break," Kasi added.

Why Sanju Samson is a necessity for CSK?

Curran's trade with Rajasthan Royals is also something that is a 'step for the future' as Viswanathan elaborated in his statement, as Sanju Samson was a necessity, given the fact that MS Dhoni might not continue for long and the fanbase will be looking for their home boy to take over.

"It is very important for CSK to build a team in the next few years. Sanju has been one of the most experienced IPL batsmen having scored more than 4,500 runs and he has also been leading Rajasthan Royals. He has the experience and he is only around 30 years. So we thought that he will be a good addition for CSK to take care of the future," Viswanathan concluded.

"Emotionally the fans will be very upset... but taking into account the current status of the team composition, the think tank felt the need for change," Viswanathan concluded.

As Viswanathan shared that fans will be 'upset', the backlash is already visible on social media with many questioning the loyalty reward of CSK. Nevertheless, though the trade ins gave away a clear picture of the franchise's mindset, the retention list, which is set to be released soon will be something that IPL fans as well as teams will keep a close look on.
