In one of the most dramatic and high-value trade deals in IPL history, Sanju Samson has moved to the Chennai Super Kings. In exchange, CSK traded Ravindra Jadeja and fans are not much amused with the decision.

Just hours before the IPL 2026 retention deadline, a series of trades were confirmed on social media.

In the biggest swap of the season, Samson is being traded to CSK, while RR will get Jadeja and Curran in return.

Not only that, SRH also traded Mohammed Shami to LSG in an all-cash trade. Shami, who struggled for rhythm in 2025, retains his Rs 10 crore price tag and will now look for a fresh start.

That being said, fans had mixed reactions to his high-profile trades. CSK fans, in particular, were upset with the franchise not honouring Jadeja’s loyalty after he spent 13 years in Chennai.

A certain fraction of fans were also happy to see Sanju Samson donning the yellow jersey. The wicket-keeper batter is one of the most loved cricketers, and Chennai people certainly welcomed him with open arms.

As for Mohammed Shami, fans questioned LSG’s strategy to not opt for a player-to-player swap and instead hand over Rs 10 crores to SRH.

That being said, apart from these two major trades, Mayank Markande has been traded from KKR to MI, whereas Arjun Tendulkar moves from MI to LSG.

Nitish Rana and Donovan Ferreira have also parted ways with RR and will play for DC in IPL 2026 in an all-cash trade deal.
