'Fan Wars Should Never...': R Ashwin Comes To Rescue Of MI Captain Hardik Pandya

The 2024 IPL edition fever is on and for Mumbai Indians, the tables had turned when there was a change of captaincy for the franchise. 

The newly appointed MI captain, Hardik Pandya was the centre of attraction since the time he was appointed Mumbai Indians captain ahead of IPL 2024. However, the team lost their first match of the 2024 season under his captaincy.

The Mumbai Indians captain is facing one of the most difficult IPL seasons. The all-rounder is facing a lot of abuse from fans and spectators on the ground and even on social media. 

However, after facing criticism and abuse from the start of the IPL, Hardik has found some support from his Team India teammate Ravichandran Ashwin. 


R.Ashwin came in support of Hardik Pandya 

Ashwin has defended and supported Hardik Pandya on his YouTube channel. He spoke about the need for fans to support the team and their players and said ultimately the fans are trolling a cricketer who plays for India.

"Fan wars should never go in this ugly route - one should remember which country these players represent - our country. So then what warrants a cricketer getting booed? - Enjoy what you like about your favourite but not by putting others down - that is one thing I like to disappear from our country" Ashwin said. 

For the 2024 IPL edition, Ashwin, who is playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR) has urged fans to not indulge in wars and refrain from taking the ugly route.

Mumbai Indians will now play its first home match at Wankhede on Monday against Rajasthan Royals on April 1, 2024, and will try to clinch its first victory in the Indian Premier League.
