In a surprising turn of events, the dynamics between Mumbai Indians' captain, Hardik Pandya and now former captain, Rohit Sharma, took an intriguing twist during the recent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. This comes after a controversial incident in the previous game against Gujarat Titans, where Pandya, in his debut as captain, appeared to assert his authority over Sharma on the field.

Last week, Pandya's directive to Sharma to field near the boundary caused a stir among fans, who criticized Pandya's handling of the situation. However, in a video doing rounds on social media, in the face of adversity against Sunrisers Hyderabad, it was Sharma who took charge, orchestrating the field placements including instructing Pandya to move to the boundary.

Last year, Mumbai Indians very abruptly declared that their 5-time IPL winning captain Rohit Sharma will be replaced by Hardik Pandya as their new skipper. This led to a lot of criticisms from fans and MI lost millions of their followers. 

However, talking about the game, MI were thrashed brutally by SRH, who smashed 277 runs making this the highest total in IPL history, thereby dethroning RCB who previously held the record of 263 runs against Pune Warriors India.
