It seems like Pakistan is finding it hard to digest their one-sided loss against India in the Asia Cup, as one of their former cricketers, Mohammad Yousuf, hurled abuse at India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, and called him “pig” on live television to showcase his frustration towards the India star.
Yousuf deliberately called him by the abusive name, and one of the anchors tried to remind Yousuf of SKY’s actual name, but the ex-cricketer ignored the advice and continued to hurl abuse at the India skipper.
Yousuf crossed the limit with abusive words towards Suryakumar
Not only the Indian captain, Yousuf, also accused the Indian team of buying umpires and using the match referee to torture the Pakistan team.
“These guys are not able to get out of the film world," Yousuf said on Samaa TV. “Ye Suar Kumar jo hai… Suar Kumar Yadav. India should be ashamed of the way they are trying to win. Getting the umpires in cahoots with them, using the referee to torture (Pakistan). They have probably given the umpire’s finger to (Indian Prime Minister, Narendra) Modi; it just wouldn’t get up whenever we appealed," Yousuf said as quoted by News18.
Suryakumar's comments triggered Pakistan
India defeated Pakistan in a one-sided contest as they won the match by 7 wickets to storm into the Asia Cup Super 4. After the game was done and dusted, SKY didn’t even shake hands with the Pakistan players and walked off the field. During the post-match presentation, he dedicated the win to the victims of the Pahalgam attack.
"I just wanted to say something. I think it is a perfect occasion to take the time out. We stand by with the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and we express our solidarity. Most important thing for me, we want to dedicate this win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery. Hope they continue to inspire us all and we give them more reasons on the ground when we get an opportunity to make them smile," SKY said.
The statement triggered the Pakistan camp as they believed Suryakumar was mixing politics with Cricket, and the two should be kept separated.
