Social media teams working with Indian Premier League franchises often put forward never-seen-before tactical content pertaining to the sport. Outside the sport, bringing out the less-serious and more-funny side of cricketers’ lives is also part of their job description.

One such easy-going video has been uploaded by Rajasthan Royals ahead of their next away IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium tomorrow. The video features DC captain Axar Patel and RR captain Sanju Samson.

No Hair Care Products For Axar Patel

While the context to the 21-second video remains unknown, Patel is seen sharing hair care tips with someone in Samson’s presence. The southpaw explicitly spoke against using hair care products to maintain a good quality hairstyle.

“Bachpan se maine maintan kiye hai [I have maintained my hair since childhood]. No hair product aur every alternate day champi,” Patel says.

For the unversed, champi means a head massage. Indians, in particular, usually take refuge in head massages to improve the quality of their hair. Depending on the part of the country one lives in, different hair oils are used for head massages.

As a result, Sanju Samson hilariously responds with “sending coconut oil to Patel” from Kerala, an Indian tropical state known for its coconuts among many other things. For those who don't know, a major reason behind Patel's inch-perfect IPL 2025 hairstyle is a high-end hair transplant.

It is to be noted that Patel and Samson go back a long way. It was a decade ago when they had first represented India during the same series – India’s tour of Zimbabwe. Since then, over half of Samson’s 58 international matches across formats have come in Patel’s presence. The pair, however, has never shared a dressing room in the IPL.
