Even after 48 hours, India still feels frozen in the magic of November 2, the night our Women in Blue carved history by lifting their maiden World Cup trophy. Amidst the outstanding victory, Amanjot Kaur’s outstanding catch remained one of the biggest highlights of the match.

While Amanjot was giving her everything on the field in that iconic Blue jersey, her grandmother was fighting for her life in a hospital bed. After false reports created buzz over her condition, the star all-rounder dismissed all the rumors.

In the Women’s World Cup final, the world remained in awe of Amanjot Kaur’s outstanding catch of Laura Wolvaardt, but only a few knew her family was battling an even bigger battle. They chose not to tell her that her grandmother had suffered a heart attack and was in the hospital, believing that even a single crack in her focus could dim her shine on the biggest night of her career.

After the Women in Blue lifted the trophy, false reports claimed Amanjot Kaur’s grandmother’s demise, and the all-rounder shut down the noise. Sharing a picture, she dismissed all the rumors, saying her ‘90s kid is doing absolutely fine.’

“Heyy, just wanted to share that my grandmother is doing well and in good health. Please don’t believe or spread false information circulating online. Thank you to everyone who’s reached out with care and concern. My 90s kid is doing absolutely fine,” she wrote.
