The brand-new Abu Dhabi T10 League franchise, Quetta Qavalry, has made a major change to their squad just weeks before the tournament begins. The team announced that Gudakesh Motie will miss the event, and Pakistan leg-break bowler Ali Majid has been named as his replacement.

Majid brings valuable T20 experience to the side. He has played 23 matches in the format and taken 22 wickets, proving himself as a handy option in short-format cricket.

Earlier this year, Majid represented the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he grabbed two wickets in two games.

The announcement was made through the Quetta Qavalry’s official Instagram page, where they welcomed the 33-year-old bowler. However, the reason for Gudakesh Motie’s exclusion is not yet revealed.

This is Quetta Qavalry’s second replacement ahead of their debut season. Earlier, the franchise had to replace Zimbabwe’s captain, Sikandar Raza, who was ruled out due to national duties, with Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan.

Azam’s addition strengthens the batting unit, as the 27-year-old has a PSL record of 1,206 runs in 61 matches at a strike rate of 143.40, including six half-centuries.

Quetta Qavalry have built a balanced squad for their first season in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, scheduled from November 18 to 30, 2025. Their lineup features a mix of star international players and promising local talent.

Their confirmed squad includes Liam Livingstone, Mohammad Amir (captain), Jason Holder, Azam Khan, Imran Tahir, Evin Lewis, and Fabian Allen, among others.

The team will be guided by former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat as head coach, while ex-Pakistan women’s star Javeria Khan serves as team director.
