'Do they?' Steve Smith Confused After Decision To Bowl First At Indore Backfires

The Indian team have registered their second win against Australia and have sealed the three-match series. In both of the games, the Indian batting line-up was on top of the Australian bowlers and smashed them all over the ground.

With this win, India have maintained their 100% win record at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. The Australian team have missed their frontline seamer Mitchell Starc considering the fact that their all-rounder, Cameron Green went for over 100 runs in his quota of ten overs.

With the centuries from Shubman and Shreyas and half-centuries from Rahul and SKY, India were in a commanding position and asked the Aussies to chase down a massive total of 400, which came down to 317 in 33 overs due to the rain.

Here's what the captain Steve Smith said after the loss:

"Potentially seeing the wicket spin the way it did we could have chosen differently at the toss but credit to Indians they batted beautifully. Shreyas and Shubman took the game away from us and then KL and Surya did what we knew they could do."

Steve Smith, who was captaining the Australian team today, did not have a great time on the field, whether it was his captaincy or his batting. He was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna on the first ball of his innings. He also said that he has seen matches here and the pitch has favoured the chasing team which was the reason behind choosing to bowl first.

"Do they? I've seen games here before and it looks good for chasing and that was our theory. The wicket got a bit sticky and started turning, but 400 was always a big target to chase down. We have lost a quite a few in South Africa and now here but the World Cup is about peaking at the right time. We have a few improvements to make and we hopefully turn things around in the next game."

We have a few days before the next game but we always want to improve and turn things around and India are always a tough side to beat, let's hope we win the next one."
