On Sunday, November 10, Pakistan beat Australia by seven wickets to win the ODI series 2-1. Now the focus has shifted towards the T20I series that will begin on November 14.
Ahead of the crucial series, Pakistan's interim white-ball head coach Jason Gillespie has slammed Cricket Australia for giving all attention to the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy and overlooking the T20I series.
Notably, India will square off against Australia in the five-match Test series starting on November 22.
"To be honest, I pretty much saw no promotion of our one-day series by Cricket Australia, which was a bit of a surprise. It’s pretty obvious that they’re prioritizing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against India because I saw no promotion of this series," remarked Gillespie.
"Fox does a great job promoting but it was pretty clear to us where CA’s priorities lie. That’s their prerogative and their decision but I just didn’t see any advertising, and promotion of this one-day series at all," he added.
Jason Gillespie Proud Of Pakistan's Performance In ODIs
Talking about the ODI series, Pakistan lost the opening game but bounced back and won the next two matches. The bowlers were on fire for Pakistan in the recently concluded series as they restricted Australia to less than 200 runs in the last two ODIs.
"What we saw in this series is our bowling exposed some flaws in the Australian batting. I’m sure the Australians will look to right some wrongs and improve some things. That’s what good players and good teams do, you learn and adjust and adapt and be ready for the next challenge. It was pleasing not just to beat Australia but beat them pretty convincingly," Gillespie added.
