Sameer Rizvi's entry into the IPL 2024 season with the Chennai Super Kings marked a debut that resonated with promise and flair. Against the Gujarat Titans, Rizvi showcased his mettle as a batsman, stepping up with confidence in the 19th over ahead of the seasoned MS Dhoni. 

Facing the renowned Rashid Khan, Rizvi's aggressive intent was evident as he dispatched the ball for a six with a confident slog sweep, followed by another boundary on the final ball of the over. Though his innings lasted only six balls, his brief cameo of 14 runs provided vital momentum to CSK's innings, contributing to their commanding victory.



Reflecting on his performance, Rizvi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play alongside cricketing stalwarts like MS Dhoni.

Here's what Sameer Rizvi said:

“When I was picked up during the auction by CSK, my greatest happiness was my dream to meet Bhaiya (MS Dhoni) would be fulfilled. We also had net sessions together and got to learn a lot from him and the (support) staff. I intend to learn more and perform to the fullest.” 

Interestingly, Rizvi shed light on his jersey number preference, revealing his penchant for the number seven. He futher said,

“My jersey number is seven, which is currently worn by Bhaiya and I can’t get it. So, I liked the number 1, and I took it.” 

With CSK securing a convincing victory over Gujarat Titans, the team's momentum is on an upward trajectory, setting the stage for thrilling encounters in the days ahead.
