Abrar Ahmed was Pakistan's front-line spinner in tri-series final against New Zealand and his team needed him to deliver after a below-par performance with the bat in the first innings. He did not manage to leave upto the expectations and ended up giving 67 runs in his 10 overs with just one wicket in his kitty.

The New Zealand bowlers attacked him and it clearly frustrated the spinner who brought it out when he finally got the wicket of dangerous Daryl Mitchell. He got that wicket on the final ball of the 39th over and it was courtesy a good reflex catch. Abrar Tossed it up on off, outside off and Daryl Mitchell tried to smash it down the ground. He hit it quite well to the right of Abrar, but the spinner quickly put his right hand out and the ball lopped up in the air after hitting his hand.

New Zealand Win Tri-Series Final With All-Round Performance

He then caught the ball with both hands and threw the ball towards the wicketkeeper Rizwan in frustration. Mitchell was disappointed and so was Kane Williamson, but New Zealand were still in a comfortable position and eventually got over the line in the 46th over, winning the game by five wickets.

Along with Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham also scored a fifty and New Zealand with the win won the tri-series at the National Stadium, Karachi. The Kiwis were unbeaten thoughout the series and with both their batting and bowling clicking before the Champions Trophy, things look pretty bright ahead of the tournament opener against Pakistan.
