Yashasvi Jaiswal has been one of the finest young batters in world cricket currently, and he proved that again in the fifth Test against England. At the Oval, on a spicy wicket, the southpaw stepped up in the second innings with his fantastic century and has put India in the driver's seat.

Naturally, Yashasvi Jaiswal was pretty happy after his hundred and came up with a heart and flying kiss celebration. The gesture triggered speculations on social media, and many assumed that he did it for his rumoured girlfriend in the UK.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Sets Aside Social Media Rumours

However, Yashasvi Jaiswal has now shut down all those rumours. In a video posted by the official X handle of BCCI, the Indian batter stated that the celebration was for his mom and dad. He added that his family was watching him play at the ground for the first time, and it was a very emotional moment for him. He expressed satisfaction at doing well in front of his parents and felt that he was blessed to do so.

"Celebration was for my mom & dad - my family was there, I was really excited & it was very emotional for me, they were here, first time watching me play for India & I really did well, I am so blessed that I could do infront of my parents", Yashasvi Jaiswal said in a video posted by BCCI on X.com.

Thus, there is no romantic angle to his celebration as speculated by many people on social media. Jaiswal scored 118 off 164 balls, and it was his second century of the series. Overall, he has scored 411 runs in the series at an average of 41.10, and this hundred on a tough pitch at a crucial juncture of the game has taken India on a path to level the series at the Oval.
