Yash Dhull, the prodigious young cricketer who led India to victory in the 2022 U19 World Cup, recently revealed the invaluable guidance he received from cricketing superstar Virat Kohli just before the tournament’s final. 

Dhull disclosed that the team had reached out to Kohli, affectionately calling him "bhaiya" (brother), and that Kohli’s words significantly boosted their morale and helped them perform in the biggest match of their young careers.

Dhull Shares Kohli's Practical Advice!

Virat Kohli shared practical tips and motivation with the squad, emphasizing the uniqueness of the moment and advising them to enjoy the occasion and play with complete freedom. Dhull recalled Kohli’s advice that moments like a World Cup final come only once in a lifetime, urging the players to embrace it fearlessly. 

This interaction helped Dhull and his teammates to calm their nerves and channel their energy positively in the final against England. The Indian U19 team went on to clinch the title, and Dhull’s captaincy and batting were widely praised. 

"We had called Virat Kohli bhaiya before the U19 final, and he gave us a lot of tips and guidance. He said that moment like this come only once in a lifetime, so enjoy the moment and play with complete freedom. He shared many other things as well, That helped us a lot in the final," Dhull said as per Cricket Kesari.

Dhull's Heroics And Inspiration From Kohli!

Yash Dhull’s recent heroics are equally inspiring. After undergoing heart surgery to repair a congenital defect, Dhull made a powerful comeback, scoring centuries in domestic tournaments like the Ranji Trophy and the Delhi Premier League. Nevertheless, Dhull has openly admired Kohli’s aggression, intent, and body language, striving to emulate these qualities in his own cricket.

“I want to be an all-format player like Virat bhaiya (Virat Kohli). He is a legend of the game. He has dominated all the three formats. I also want to be the best in all three formats. He is my inspiration," Dhull once said, as per TOI.

Yash Dhull is currently playing in DPL, where he is in shining form. From his 8 matches, he garnered 435 runs at an average of 87.00. His knocks also include two centuries and three half-centuries.
