In addition to his multiple achievements on the cricket field, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins also promotes tourism in Australia actively. Cummins, who became the newest member of Tourism Australia’s Friends of Australia advocacy program in November last year, is often spotted in advertisements promoting Australian tourism.

In a recent interaction with Times of India, Cummins explained how Australia sells itself as a travel destination on the back of coastline, animals, food and love for sports. Considering the same factors, he even designed a sample itinerary for veteran Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Virat Kohli.

"This itinerary would offer a blend of cricket, adventure, culture, and relaxation, with experiences in some of Australia’s most iconic locations,” Cummins was quoted as saying by Times of India.

Pat Cummins Relishes Time In India

Cummins, who has made over a dozen trips to India in the last decade and a half, is mesmerized by the tourism offerings available in the country. Considering India to be his “second home”, the 31-year-old player relishes the culture, history, food, energy, and modernity here.

For anyone who enjoys his/her time in India, a strong liking for Indian cuisine has to be one of the reasons behind returning to the country. Cummins is no different. Sharing his food preferences, the Australian captain seems to be a typical foodie.

The flavours, the spices, the variety – there’s so much to enjoy about Indian cuisine. I’m a big fan of butter chicken, naan and also love the variety of vegetarian options, like dal and paneer dishes which are always packed with flavour,” Cummins added.

Among his favourite city-and-dish combinations, Cummins responded with Mumbai’s Pav Bhaji and Hyderabad’s Biryani.

On the work front, Cummins has led Sunrisers to a win and defeat each in their first two Indian Premier League 2025 matches. The franchise is set to face Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam tomorrow.
