India are currently up against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy Final in Dubai. The Men In Blue look determined and focus on what can be another ICC title in their name in less than a year.
As India competes in yet another ICC final, Hardik Pandya remains as one of the players in spotlight for the Rohit Sharma-led side. The pace-bowling all-rounder has been instrumental in team India's campaign in the Champions Trophy so far.
Hardik Pandya: India's All-Round Weapon
After helping India to lift the T20 World Cup title last, Pandya has continued to shine for his side in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025. His all-round abilities is second to none as it provides Rohit and the management to maintain a balanced team composition.
Ahead of the Final against New Zealand, Pandya’s childhood coach, Jitendra Singh, spoke to ANI and shed light on how Pandya’s batting prowess can turn the game on its head and make the team win. His power-hitting makes sure that India can post or chase down any total with ease.
"Hardik Pandya is capable as a batter to change the tone of the match, and as a batsman to make the team win. As an all-rounder, he brings a good balance to the team,” Jitendra said.
Alongside Pandya's explosive batting, Jitender believes it's his abilities to take wickets with the ball that makes him a crucial asset to Indian cricket at the moment. Evidently, his seam bowling has allowed India to pick only Mohammed Shami as a pure pacer and field four perfect spinners in the ongoing Champions Trophy.
As a result, India has enjoyed the benefits of playing four spinners, including Varun Chakravarthy, whose mystery spin adds an extra variety to India's bowling attack. With Pandya providing the extra seam option, India has been able to get the best out of the Dubai conditions and make themselves even more dominant.
