Pakistan cricket is middle of controversies with the T20 World Cup approaching. After Shaheen Afridi's captaincy change , Babar Azam reclaimed the captaincy of Pakistan T20 team. Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has now came  out with a controversial statement alleging that Babar Azam took revenge against Shaheen Afridi.

The drama unfolded with Pakistan's disappointing performance in the World Cup held in India. Following the tournament, Babar Azam was replaced as captain, with Shaheen Afridi taking over the T20 captaincy and Shan Masood assuming the test captaincy.

Shaheen Afridi's captaincy tenure saw Pakistan compete in only one tournament, resulting in a 1-4 loss to New Zealand in New Zealand. Adding to this, Shaheen led Lahore Qalandars finished at the bottom in this year's PSL.

Rashid Latif drops bombshell on Pakistan cricket

New Zealand is scheduled to play 5 T20 matches in Pakistan ahead of the T20 World Cup and   Shaheen Afridi was replaced by Babar Azam as the T20 captain for this series. With Babar taking over the captaincy once again, it is expected that he'll lead the team in T20 World Cup in June.

"No matter how much friendship there is, Babar has taken revenge [against Shaheen]. Shaheen was treated unfairly and so was Babar”-Rashid Latif said.

Rashid Latif continues his criticism of Pakistan cricket, stating that the team is in disarray and he foresees them crumbling in the World Cup. The pressure is mounting on Pakistan and Babar Azam. If they fail to perform, it won't be an easy situation. Additionally, there's pressure to integrate Shaheen Afridi back into the team as well.
