Sri Lanka head coach Chris Silverwood lauded India's dominating bowling display at the ICC World Cup 2023 and highlighted spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and his support cast as a cause of envy for other oppositions at the marquee tournament.

With Sri Lanka next on India's sight at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday (November 2), the Lankan support staff head lavished rich praise on Bumrah and company for flexing their muscles in an incredible six-match winning streak for skipper Rohit Sharma's men.

Silverwood would've watched in awe when India butchered his former troops England in Lucknow last Sunday, recovering ground despite a paltry score of 229/9 to ultimately clinch a win by a whopping 100-run margin.

Bumrah has been the biggest difference with new-ball bursts and death-overs expertise, taking 14 scalps in six matches while helping the rest of the pack ease into their respective roles and perform exceedingly well at the other end.

Silverwood Lauds Indian Bowling Attack

Fellow experienced pacer Mohammad Shami has been the biggest beneficiary, bagging nine scalps since his return to the outfit two matches earlier. Shami and Bumrah's presence has allowed Mohammed Siraj to fly under the radar and reinforce a strong footing after initial struggles in the competition.

Apart from the quicks, the spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav has been outstanding in the middle overs, taking eight and ten wickets respectively to derail the opposition batting units. No opposition has reached the 300 mark against India in what has been a high-scoring tournament.

"If you look at that bowling attack and you watch them operate, it is a very strong bowling attack. I think any team in the world would want an attack like that, to be honest," Silverwood said at the pre-match press conference in Mumbai.

"But we see that as a great challenge for our guys. We see it as an opportunity to go out and play against the best and see, I mean, pit ourselves against that. But there is no hiding it is a very good bowling attack," he added.

Another win for Team India will cement their spot in the semifinals round while a defeat for struggling Lankan Lions will crash their hopes of making it to the knock-outs stage.
