Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team and a big fan of Real Madrid football club, has taken up a new job. He's now the face of La Liga in India, which is a big deal. At an event on a Thursday, he talked about the cricket issue that's bothering the team.

The problem is about No. 4 position in the ODIs. With the World Cup coming up in less than two months, the team is having a hard time finding the right player for this spot. This problem has been there before in the 2019 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma mentioned a player named Shreyas Iyer. He's making a comeback after being out of action because of an injury. When he played at No. 4, he did really well, scoring 805 runs in 20 matches. That's like getting a lot of points.

“Look, No. 4 has been an issue for us for a long time. After Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh), nobody has come and settled themselves in. But, for a long period of time, Shreyas (Iyer) has actually batted at No. 4 and he has done well — his numbers are really good,” Rohit told reporters on the event."

"The percentage of injuries that have happened in the last 4-5 years, it is massive. When the players get injured or are not available, you try doing different things with different players — that is what I have to say about No. 4."

Rohit Sharma also said,

"Even before, when I was not the captain, I was watching no? There were so many guys who came in and went out. But injuries kept them away or they were not available or someone lost form."

The Asian Games are set to take place in Hangzhou, China from 28 September to 7 October 2023. 18 men teams are going to take part in this tournament.
