The year 2025 has been a disappointing one for fans of the Indian cricket team. They have faced the retirement of some iconic names like Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli from the longest format of the game. The latest name in this list is Cheteshwar Pujara.

The Indian batter was known for his resilience, patience, and grit in the longest format of the game. Cheteshwar Pujara stood as the cornerstone for India in some of their most memorable contests in recent times.

Pujara's Resilience Gets Compared To That Of White Walkers

While the Indian fans have often praised the grit and resilience of the former batter, and now his ex-teammate Ashwin has talked about the features that characterised Cheteshwar Pujara, the batter.

Notably, on his YouTube channel, Ash Ki Baat, Ashwin likened Pujara's resilience to the White Walkers from the fantasy series "Game Of Thrones".

He said, "The cricket-loving public definitely knows the contribution of Cheteshwar Pujara. If you guys have seen Game of Thrones, there is a character of a white walker. I termed Pujara a white walker. He walks slowly but never leaves the field."

Why Ashwin Compared Pujara To GOT Character?

In the HBO series Game of Thrones, which is based on the novel series The Song of Ice and Fire, the White Walkers are humanoid characters. They have powers that make them seem invincible. The biggest specialisation of the figures was that they would never leave a fight, no matter the attack.

Given how Pujara fought his battles for India on the field, there are many similarities. Pujara was never ready to leave a fight, no matter how many blows were hurled at him. He was mostly unfazed by the things happening around him and kept on going about his business, irrespective of the situation and condition.
