Pakistan in a tricky position vs India [Source: AP]
Led by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan had a decent outing with the bat, as they posted 241 runs on the board in their ongoing Champions Trophy encounter against India. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Pakistan had two huge setbacks, with Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq being dismissed in quick succession.
Although Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel struck valiant fifties, the hosts couldn't even breach the 250-run mark, falling short of it by nine runs. Although the surface in Dubai has been challenging for the batters, India have an incredibly good batting unit that can chase the target comfortably.
As India are the favourites to win this game, the question arises, will Pakistan be eliminated from the Champions Trophy if they lose tonight?
What If Pakistan Lose Tonight vs India?
This is Pakistan's second group-stage match, and they will face Bangladesh in their final game of the Champions Trophy. The Men in Green had a torrid start to the tournament, losing the first match against New Zealand by 60 runs.
However, even if Pakistan end up losing tonight, they won't be eliminated instantly from the tournament. Although their final group-stage match will be a must-win clash for them to keep themselves alive in the semifinal race, the Men in Green must hope for some results to go their way if they incur a defeat tonight.
Nevertheless, if Pakistan lose tonight and New Zealand defeat Bangladesh tomorrow, the former's Champions Trophy campaign will be officially over. In that case, India and New Zealand will qualify from Group-A for the semifinals of the Champions Trophy.
