MS Dhoni Leads CSK At 43 Years; Here Are The Oldest Captains In IPL History

MS Dhoni was seen leading the CSK team against KKR. At the age of 43 Years and 278 Days, Dhoni became the oldest captain to lead a team in IPL.

Notably, the Chennai Super Kings are currently playing against KKR in the 25th match of the IPL 2025 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the designated skipper of the team suffered an elbow fracture and has been ruled out of the tournament. MS Dhoni has replaced him as the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings.

Dhoni last led the franchise during IPL 2023, when they managed to win the title. Ahead of the next season, MS Dhoni decided to step down from the role and handed over the responsibility to Ruturaj Gaikwad.
