The ongoing 33rd edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy is witnessing many stalwarts etch their names into history in the List A matches. Along with First-Class and Twenty20 cricket, List A cricket is one of the three major formats recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

In List A matches, the number of overs per side generally ranges from 40 to 60, with 50 overs being the most common. This format also includes international matches involving teams that do not yet have official ODI status.

Over the years, India has produced several legendary batters who have dominated this format through their consistency, technique, and ability to score big runs under pressure, both at the international and domestic levels.

Having said that, in this article, we look at the list of players with the most runs for India in List A.

5) Rahul Dravid - 15271 runs

Former India head coach Rahul Dravid, known for his classical, methodical batting style, amassed 15271 runs in his List A career. His career, spanning from 1996 to 2011, saw many impressive performances, stealing the game away from the opposition.

Forever appreciated for his old-school batting technique, Dravid retooled his white-ball game over the years to become an adept middle-order finisher, thereby finishing his career with a wealth of runs.

4) Sourav Ganguly - 15622 runs

The 'Dada' Sourav Ganguly holds a special place in Indian cricket history. In his 15-year-long run in the List A cricket, Ganguly smashed as many as 15622 runs. Starred by 31 tons and 97 fifties, dominated as the lefty batter opening the innings.

Even today, Ganguly retains his magnetic ability to attract attention, much like his playing days, when things like him waving his shirt from the Lord's balcony, his coming late for the toss, etc., grabbed headlines.

3) Rohit Sharma - 13913* runs

Former India captain and Champions Trophy winner, Rohit Sharma, secures the 3rd spot in the tally, with 13913 runs. Sharma acquired the stat in his 352nd List A game in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.

With the ODI World Cup 2027 on his radar, Rohit Sharma is turning back the years. In 2025, Rohit Sharma underwent a significant weight loss, shedding around 11 kg through strict diet (cutting junk like his favorite vadapav), high-intensity workouts (700-800 reps), focusing on core strength, and aiming for better agility and endurance for the 2027 World Cup.

2) Virat Kohli - 16207* runs

Indian batting stalwart, Virat Kohli, is second on this list with 16207 runs in 344 List A matches. His tally also includes 58 centuries and 85 half-centuries.

In the 33rd edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, Kohli achieved the milestone of 16,000+ runs. With this, the India batting star went past Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest to reach 16,000 runs in List A cricket, achieving the milestone in his 330th innings during India's premier 50-over domestic tournament.

1) Sachin Tendulkar - 21999 runs

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, inarguably the most complete batter of his time, the most prolific run-maker of all time, and perhaps the biggest cricket icon the game has ever known, has 21999 runs to his name in List A cricket.

Playing 551 games and batting in 538, 'God of Cricket' Sachin has 60 hundreds along with 114 fifties to his name. Blessed with the keenest of cricket minds and driven by a detestation for defeat, Tendulkar indeed established himself in world cricket as the best.
