Two of the active Indian cricketing legends, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are in action for their side in the ongoing first ODI of the three-match series against South Africa in Ranchi. Both the modern-day batting greats are set to make their much-awaited comeback in the ODI cricket. Notably. 

Notably, Rohit and Kohli already announced their retirements from the Tests and T20Is, almost together. In what seems to be a historic moment, Rohit and Kohli have achieved a unique feat in international cricket, surpassing the pair of former Indian cricketing legends, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. 

Ro-Ko feature in their record-extending international appearance

The Rohit-Kohli duo has become the Indian pair to feature in the most number of international matches together. The ongoing second ODI against the Proteas in Ranchi is the 392nd match in which Rohit and Kohli are appearing together for Team India. 

Till date, the record was on the credit of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid as they featured together in 391 international matches for India. Following Tendulkar-Draviid pair, it was the pair of Sourav Ganguly and Dravid that played 369 international games together for the Men in Blue. 

Sachin Tendulkar is the only player who has featured three times in this list as he also played 367 matches alongside Anil Kumble, followed by 341 matches with Sourav Ganguly.

Coming back to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, both the batting stalwarts have been serving the Indian team together for more than the last 17 years. Speaking of their ODI career, Kohli has scored 14, 255 runs in 293 ODI innings of the 305 games he has played so far, hitting 51 centuries and 75 half-centuries. He also has the highest number of centuries in ODI cricket, surpassing the former India legend Sachin Tendulkar in the ODI World Cup 2023. 

Besides that, Rohit Sharma has also achieved some amazing numbers in the ODI cricket, scoring 11,370 runs in 268 innings, with 33 centuries and 59 half-centuries. He also has an amazing record of hitting three double centuries in the ODIs, becoming the only batter to do so.
