Pakistan cricket blew hot and cold across formats in 2025. The team won a couple of T20I tri-series, but they also suffered heartbreaking losses in the Champions Trophy and the Asia Cup finale. However, despite having a mixed year, the team had few notable performers who delivered the goods for the Pakistan team.

In this article, we take a look at Pakistan’s top run-getters across formats in 2025 and a surprising name sits at the top of the run-scoring charts.

5) Saim Ayub (817 runs in 38 matches)

It was a strange year for Saim Ayub in 2025. He started on a promising note, but his form diminished as the year ended. The explosive left-handed batter played 38 matches across formats, but had an underwhelming year, scoring 817 runs, with an average of just 22, including 6 fifties.

He failed to deliver with the bat, but Ayub turned into a superb T20I spinner and he also became the world's number one ranked bowler in ICC ranking.

4) Fakhar Zaman ( 881 runs in 32 matches)

Just like Ayub, veteran batter Fakhar Zaman blew hot and cold throughout the year, and while he did have a couple of key knocks under his belt in the Asia Cup, overall, the star batter had a disappointing outing.

The southpaw plays only ODIs and T20Is, and in 32 matches, he racked up 881 runs, with an average of 31.46, and a strike rate of 108.89. After playing as an opener for the majority of his career, Fakhar was pushed down the order in the T20Is this year and he delivered the goods in the middle-order.

3) Mohammad Rizwan (929 runs in 22 matches)

Mohammad Rizwan was dropped mid year from the T20I format, and despite playing in only two formats for the majority of 2025, the keeper-batter finished as the third highest run-getter for Pakistan.

In just 22 matches, Rizwan scored 929 runs, at an average of 40.39. In the ODIs, he was Pakistan's best batter, and when the time came to score crucial runs in Tests, he was present in the middle for the team.

2) Babar Azam (1065 runs in 30 matches)

Compared to his lofty standards, Babar Azam had a poor 2025 across formats. A lot was expected of their star batter but he failed to deliver the goods in ODIs, couldn’t do much in Tests and just like Rizwan was dropped from the T20I team before getting a callup.

In 30 matches across formats this year, Babar has racked up 1065 runs, with an average of just 33.28, which is poor considering he sets the bar high for all his teammates.

1) Salman Ali Agha (1569 runs in 56 matches)

A surprising name at the top, but Salman Agha tops the list of Pakistan players with most runs across formats in 2025.

As compared to others, Salman Agha played almost all of the matches Pakistan was involved in and while his performances in the T20Is was questionable, he delivered in the ODIs and was decent in Tests as well. He scored 1569 runs in 56 matches, with an average of 32.68, with all his notable performances coming in ODI format.
