West Indies are a power-packed T20I side and have produced some big match-winners over the years. They are known for their fearsome power-hitting ability and have smashed some big scores over 200 in the shortest format over the years. 

The Men in Maroon have also won two T20 World Cup trophies, and despite some lows in the recent past, they remain a formidable force in T20Is. Thus, in this article, we will look at the top-five scores for West Indies in T20Is.

5. 224/5 vs England, Bridgetown, 2022

West Indies' fifth-highest score in T20Is came during the third game of a five-match series against England in 2022. The scoreline of series was 1-1 and Windies got a chance to bat first. They lost both openers early, but Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell were in the mood and smashed English bowlers all over the park.

Pooran scored 70 off 43 balls, but Powell was a class apart and ended up hitting 10 sixes in his 107 from just 53 deliveries. His knock took West Indies to 224, and though England tried hard, they eventually lost the match by 20 runs.

West Indies had a team full of superstars in 2015, and a few of them got together to punish the Proteas in 2015 at the Bull Ring. The 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle was the star of the show as he smashed South Africa's inexperienced bowling attack on his way to a brilliant 90 from 41 balls. 

He got good support from Marlon Samuels, and the duo built a stand of 152 runs for the second-wicket. Samuels scored 60 runs, and the likes of Russell, Bravo and Sammy provided the finishing touches as the Windies chased down the target of 232. They scored 236 runs, with Sammy hitting a six at a score of 230.

3. 245/6 vs India, Lauderhill - 2016 

West Indies' third biggest score in T20Is came in 2016 against India in Lauderhill. Evin Lewis announced himself in that game with a scintillating hundred off 49 balls, while Johnson Charles also smashed 79 in just 33 balls. 

They had an opening stand of 126, and then the likes of Russell and Pollard played handy cameos as West Indies posted a massive score of 245. It turned out to be just enough in the end, and Windies won the game by only a single run.

2. 256/5 vs Ireland, Bready  - 2025 

The second-highest score for the West Indies in T20Is came against the Irish boys and once again Evin Lewis stood tall with his power-hitting masterclass. He smashed 91 from 44 balls, while the likes of Shai Hope and Kaecy Carty also played blistering knocks to take West Indies to a huge score of 256, almost beating their highest-ever T20I total.

West Indies eventually won the game by 62 runs as Ireland could not match their opponents' destructive batting force.

The highest-ever score for West Indies in T20Is is 258. It was against South Africa in Centurion during the second T20I of the three-match series between the two teams. West Indies were in great form with a victory in the first match, and then came out all guns blazing with the bat in the second T20I.

Johnson Charles was at his belligerent best and hammered 118 from just 46 balls. Kyle Mayers also hit a fifty, while Romario Shepherd did his finishing duty perfectly with 41 from 18 deliveries. West Indies though could not stop South African batters in the second half and lost the game by six wickets.
