The IPL 2025 season has kicked off in some style. Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) hosted the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the curtain raiser at the iconic Eden Gardens on a Saturday evening.
After being put into bat, KKR posted a formidable total of 175 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. In reply, RCB got off to a great start as Phil Salt and Virat Kohli came out all guns blazing, smashing the KKR bowlers all around the park.
In no time RCB raced to 80 runs without losing any wicket inside the first six overs, making it their second-highest powerplay score in IPL history. With such an aggressive start, RCB set the perfect foundation for the run-chase.
On that occasion let's go through the top four highest powerplay scores by the Bengaluru franchise in IPL till date.
