2016 was a special year for Virat Kohli as he racked up runs for fun across formats. However, it was in the Test setup wherein he truly shone and took his game to the next level. When England came to India for a Test series, the then-India captain showed his class and notched up centuries at will.

However, one particular knock stands out and it was played at the Wankhede Stadium, in Mumbai. Batting first, England posted 400 runs, and in reply, it was the Virat Kohli show as the batter dazzled with his stroke-making and slammed a monstrous 235 runs and took his team's total to 631. This was the fifth-highest individual score in India Vs England Tests.

4) Geoff Boycott - 246

One of England's all-time greats, Geoffrey Boycott played one of the finest Test innings of 1967. Batting first, England posted a mammoth 550/4, with Boycott leading from the front.
