Rohit Sharma is placed fifth in the list of top five batters with highest batting average in Champions Trophy. The current Indian skipper made his tournament debut back in 2013 when the then Team India captain MS Dhoni made a career changing move for Rohit and pushed him up the order to open the innings for India.

Since then, Rohit, the opener has never looked back and his numbers in this tournament speaks for himself.  However, we saw the best of Rohit in the 2017 edition where he was the vice-captain of the Indian side and amassed a total of 304 runs at a scintillating average of 76 which includes a match-winning unbeaten century against Bangladesh in the Semi Final.

Overall, Rohit has played two editions of the Champions Trophy and has an average of 53.4 with 481 runs in total. He is set to play his third and most probably the last edition this time as the captain of his side.

Sourav Ganguly is the third name in the list and most probably the first Indian player to dominate this tournament like no other. The left-hander was part of the inaugural edition of the tournament in 1998 and went on to play a total of four editions till 2004.

Ganguly never had a bad campaign in this tournament and by far his best was the 2000 edition where he was captaining India and finished the tournament as the highest run scorer. He scored a magnificent century in the Final against New Zealand but the men in blue fell short to clinch the title.

Overall, Ganguly has been one of the most successful players in the tournament’s history and the numbers are there to see.

India's Virat Kohli holds the record for the highest batting average in Champions Trophy with a mind-blowing average of 88.2 in a total of 12 innings, scoring 529 runs.

Kohli made his Champions Trophy debut back in 2009 in South Africa where we got the glimpse of the upcoming modern day chase master when he hit the unbeaten 79 against West Indies at Johannesburg.

Following that, Kohli played a key role in India winning the title in the 2013 edition, scoring a crucial 43 to take India to a defendable total. It was under his leadership, team India almost defended their title in 2017 where he led from the front three half centuries and a total of 258 runs at 129.

This is going to be Kohli’s fourth edition of the Champions Trophy and we expect the King to be at his best and get his hand on the title one final time.
