One of the best off-spinners in Test history, India's Ravichandran Ashwin needs no introduction. Ashwin has bamboozled batters time and time with his acuity and craft over the years in Test cricket. As an avid student of the game, the off-spinner continues to evolve with each passing day and is always on the lookout for ways to gain supremacy over his opponents.

Since making his debut in 2011, the Tamil Nadu player has climbed the wickets ladder quite fast and never looked back despite setbacks. Ashwin, who is India's second-highest wicket-taker (474) in Tests, is number nine on the list of leading wicket-getters in the red-ball format.

Overall, in 92 Tests for India, Ashwin has scalped over 474 wickets at an average of 23.93, with an even better economy of 2.76. However, what stands out is the number of five-wicket hauls taken by Ashwin, which is 32, apart from having seven 10-fers in his kitty, that contributes to 181 wickets.

Ashwin is sixth on the list of most five-fers in Tests, which is headed by Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan, who claimed 67 in his 133-Test career.

Here's the breakdown of all of Ashwin's 32 five-fers

ODI and T20I Cricket

In comparison, Ashwin has played very fewer limited-overs cricket and does not have a One-Day International (ODI) or T20 International five-wicket haul. The wily spinner has played 113 ODIs between 2010 and 2022, claiming 151 wickets with a best of 25 for 4.

In 65 T20Is for India, the lanky bowler has 72 wickets, with two four-fers under his belt. Ashwin is India's third-highest wicket taker behind Yuzvendra Chahal (91) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (90).
