In a remarkable turn of events, Yorkshire County Cricket Club has appointed legendary former English fast bowler Darren Gough as the team director on a permanent basis. Notably, Gough served as the interim team director during the 2022 season.

Gough, 52, seemed ecstatic at his appointment and vowed to take Yorkshire to new heights in his tenure.

Here's what Gough stated

"I have a long-established connection to the club and am very happy to be part of our future by signing a permanent contract. I am looking forward to working together with Ottis and the coaching team in the years ahead to bring success on the cricket field back to Yorkshire."

The club has also recruited Stephen Vaughan as their new CEO. Vaughan replaces Mark Arthur, who resigned from the role in November 2021.

In his reaction, Vaughan termed it an honour to take up the position and seemed determined to bring positive changes to the club.

"Yorkshire CCC is one of the most iconic sporting institutions in the world and it's truly an honour to take up this position. I am determined to deliver sporting success at Headingley and produce exceptional results, underpinned by robust commercial foundations and our vision to make Yorkshire Cricket a place for everyone."
