The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have reached the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 finale and this will be the 4th time the franchise will contest in the finale of the league. It was a one-sided contest as RCB destroyed the Punjab Kings in a game where the Shreyas Iyer led side struggled to score runs.
Punjab Kings were put into bat and the team crumbled under pressure as they got bundled out for a modest 101. In reply, RCB lost Virat Kohli early, but Phil Salt came to the party and destroyed the PBKS bowlers to hand the team a comfortable win and a place in the finals.
This is their 4th IPL finale, so what happened the last time Kohli played in the finals last time? Did he play well?.
Warner's brilliance took SRH to 208/7
In a tense finale, the David Warner led Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first and posted 208/7. The captain of the team led the charge as he batted wonderfully and scored a brisk 69 off 38 balls.
The team did crumble in the middle overs, but an unlikely hero stepped up as Ben Cutting played the innings of his life and slammed 39 off 15 balls.
Kohli scores a magnificent fifty but....
Chasing a target of 209, RCB were off to a flying start with Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle adding 114 runs for the first wicket and the team having one hand on the trophy. However, the great disaster occurred as once Kohli departed for a classy 54 off 35, the RCB hopes died as the middle order batters couldn't deliver the goods and RCB lost the match by 8 runs.
While Kohli was in the middle, RCB were confident to win their maiden title, but once the star batter departed, everything ended for him. Kohli ended the season with 973 runs.
