RCB reach IPL final [Source: @iplt20.com]
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has certainly been the best IPL team this season and they proved it once again with a demolition job of the Punjab Kings in the Qualifier 1 at the Mullanpur Stadium. This was a comprehensive victory for the Rajat Patidar led side as the franchise reached their 4th IPL final in history.
RCB bowlers run riot Vs PBKS batters
On a seaming deck, Rajat Patidar elected to bowl first and the decision paid off immediately as RCB churned out wickets for fun inside the power-play. The likes of Prabhsimran Singh, Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer went back cheaply as the middle order came under pressure.
For a brief moment, Marcus Stoinis led a fightback and scored a quick-fire 26 off 17, but once he departed, the batting lineup crumbled as PBKS got bundled out for a mere 101.
Phil Salt steer RCB past winning line
The conditions favoured the bowlers and Kyle Jamieson turned back the clock to knock over Virat Kohli for a rare low score. However, that was the only happy moment for PBKS as Phil Salt ran riot and almost turned into a one-man wrecking machine as he steered RCB past the winning line and helped them reach the finale.
PBKS set a date with either MI/GT
All is not lost for the Punjab Kings as they will have another shot at reaching the finale. They will now play the winner of GT/MI Eliminator match in the Qualifier 2 on Sunday. The MI Vs GT match will take place on Friday, May 30.
