Pakistan U19 opener Sameer Minhas stole the show in the U19 Asia Cup 2025 final against arch-rivals India at the ICC Academy in Dubai on December 21, 2025. Coming in to bat first after losing the toss, Minhas produced a brilliant century, scoring 100 runs off just 71 balls.
The final was highly anticipated, with India and Pakistan locking horns once again. Indian captain Ayush Mhatre chose to field first, hoping his bowlers could restrict Pakistan. However, the Indian attack struggled to cope with Minhas’ aggressive and well-timed strokeplay early in the game.
While India’s Henil Patel managed to dismiss Hamza Zahoor early, Minhas, alongside Usman Khan, anchored the innings and helped Pakistan cross the 50-run mark in just the 7th over.
Minhas’ century was the second-fastest of the tournament, just behind India’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi. His quick scoring during the powerplay had put India on the back foot and laid the foundation for a big total. He departed after making 172 runs in 113 balls at the strike-rate of 152.21.
