Delhi Capitals suffered their third successive defeat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. This time, the Rajasthan Royals schooled them in what turned out to be a one-sided contest on Saturday.

Chasing a mammoth 200, Delhi Capitals needed a solid start, but they were eluded off it as Prithvi Shaw and Manish Pandey departed for a first over duck. DC skipper David Warner did manage to score a 55-ball 65, but that wasn't enough as the team from Delhi faltered in the chase and lost the game by 57 runs.

Speaking to the official broadcaster after the match, Warner was disappointed, but lauded the opposition for the way they bowled.

"When you are chasing 200, you have to start well in the powerplay. Trent Boult bowled amazingly and we couldn't get well. It is always a challenge against him. It is all about the skills and the plan for power-play. All and where we are professional athletes. Out here it is all about executing. We will look to rebound here and head to Mumbai, perhaps Mumbai, swinging conditions again."

Talking about the match, Rajasthan Royals came out all guns blazing with the bat, scoring 199 for 4. Openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal were the stars, with scores of 79, and 60 respectively.

With that win, RR have climbed to the top of the points table, while DC continue to languish at the bottom of the table.
