In an unfortunate turn of events, India's premier swing bowler Deepak Chahar has sustained a hamstring injury, which will likely keep him out of the remainder of CSK's going IPL 2023 clash against Mumbai Indians. Chahar, who opened the bowling for CSK, complained a hamstring strain in the first over and walked off the field.

The incident happened after Chahar bowled the fifth delivery of his opening over. The ace seamer, who kept it tight in the first two balls, went for a boundary in the third delivery before conceding two singles in the next two deliveries. However, he pulled his hamstring right after delivering the fifth ball, following which he somehow completed his over and walked off the field.

Considering how Chahar has had issues with his hamstring over the years, his participation in the remainder of the game is in jeopardy. Meanwhile, young batter Subhranshu Senapati has replaced him on the field.

Regarding the game, Chennai Super Kings' captain MS Dhoni opted to bowl first after winning the toss. However, the MI openers, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, have given them an outstanding start through some sensational hitting in the first three overs.

After scoring 10 runs off Chahar, the dynamic duo took on Tushar Deshpande and CSK's recent recruit Sisanda Magala, ensuring a brisk start for the home team.

As of writing, MI are 37 for no loss, with Sharma and Kishan are batting on 21* and 14*,  respectively.
