Fielding has always been a fascinating aspect of cricket, where the skill and talent of the player can be bettered continuously and be built into a match-changing trait.

Former India skipper Virat Kohli, who is known for his fielding and athleticism, in a crucial juncture, produced a match-changing moment against Afghanistan during the third T20I at Bangalore last evening, which India won via super-over.

Kohli, in the 17th over of Afghanistan's chase, jumped as high as possible, caught the ball out of thin air, and threw it back onto the playing field, stopping a six, which rekindled memories of a certain AB de Villiers.

Former South Africa legend de Villiers, too, was known for his sharp, and acrobatic fielding skills, playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, displayed a similar super-human effort against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Then de Villiers, stationed near the boundary-line leaped into the air and caught a stunning one-handed catch dismissing Alex Hales in the process.

Interestingly, Kohli who captained RCB in 2018, tweeted a picture of a leaping de Villiers as well captioned, "Saw #SpiderMan Live today! 😮 @abdevilliers17 #RCBvsSRH #IPL2018"

Then during pre-match training during IPL 2020, Kohli recreated de Villiers 'Superman' catch from the 2018 edition, labelling his former teammate and himself as "Brothers in the air ".

The former Indian captain will next be seen in action against England in the upcoming five-Test series starting January 25.
