What Should Rohit Sharma Do To Overcome His Lean Patch? Ravi Shastri Answers

The IPL 2023 has been a forgettable tournament for Indian captain Rohit Sharma, as he has managed only 184 runs at a mediocre average of 18.40 and a sub-par strike rate of 126.90. Furthermore, the Mumbai Indians captain recently hit a new low by creating an infamous record for the most number of ducks in the IPL after he was dismissed for nought against CSK two days ago.

While Sharma aims at redemption, former Indian coach Ravi Shastri has come up with a piece of priceless advice that could help him put an end to his rough patch.

As quoted by Sportskeeda, Shastri opined that Sharma should take some time to get his eyes in instead of playing expansive shots early in the innings. Thus, the legendary Mumbai cricketer suggested the veteran batter to switch to ODI batting mode in order to get his rhythm back.

Here's what Shastri stated

"Rohit is a master of the 50-over game and you can rank him with the greats. But there's a method to even the madness in T20s. He gives himself time in 50-over game and then goes beserk. Maybe he can try that because he is a power hitter and can hit fours and sixes at will. It's just about saying to yourself, 'I will go after the bowling in the power play and be selective in my stroke making."

Rohit's abysmal batting form has definitely taken a toll on MI's IPL 2023 campaign, as they are placed sixth in the points table with five wins in ten appearances. They will take on RCB in their 11th group-stage fixture on Tuesday.
