West Indies Cricket provides update on Stafanie Taylor’s health

West Indies all-rounder Stafanie Taylor was escorted off the field during her side’s T20 World Cup 2023 match against India. The cricketer sustained an injury while fielding near the short fine region during the eighth over of the Indian innings.

Thereafter, she was taken off the field on a stretcher in team physio’s presence and did not took part in the remainder of the game. After much medical observation, the West Indies Cricket Board have now unveiled new updates on Taylor’s health.

CWI medical team continues to assess Stafanie

Cricket West Indies have dropped new updates on the star all-rounder after the unfortunate injury she suffered against India. In an official statement released by the cricket board, the Cricket West Indies (CWI) medical team stated:

“Stafanie recently returned to play and during the match against India she felt discomfort in her back and called for medical attention.”

“Stafanie’s health is our priority, and our medical team continues to assess her and will be giving her all the support she needs, so she can return to action as soon as possible. We will provide an update in due course.”

It remains to be seen if the 31-year-old will return to West Indies’ playing XI anytime during the remainder of the ongoing tournament. Hayley Matthews and co. will face Ireland on February 17 and conclude their Group B campaign against Pakistan on February 19.
