The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) have roped in two former Pakistan cricketers as batting and bowling coaches of the Afghanistan Cricket’s High Performance Centre.

While the board appointed Imran Farhat to mentor the batters, ex-speedster Rana Naved-ul-Hassan has been brought in to fine-tune the skills of the budding fast bowlers at the centre.

As of now, the two cricketers have signed a one-year agreement with the ACB. The deal can be extended further on the basis of improved performance under their regime.

Rana takes jibe at PCB after ACB deal

Imran Farhat is expected to reach the ACB office in Kabul by February 15. Meanwhile, Rana Naved-ul-Hassan is slated to reach Afghanistan after the conclusion of PSL 2023 season, i.e., during the second half of March.

Rana recently confirmed his association with Afghanistan cricket by saying that they are offering him more than his own country’s board (PCB) ever did.

The speedster also stated that it is an honour for him to get an international contract and he is looking forward to sharing his experience with Afghan cricketers.

"Afghan Board had offered me $2,500 per month which also included other benefits, which is more than what PCB offers. It is an honour for me to get an international assignment. I will try to share my experience with the young cricketers of Afghanistan.”
