It was back in 1996, when Pakistan last hosted an ICC event. Years have passed since the Indian players have played on the neighbouring soil. However, this might change as the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be played in Pakistan and PCB has proposed the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore as the possible venue for all Team India games. 

A video has been circulating online on popular social media platform 'X', giving fans a major throwback to the year 2006 where Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja are seen shopping Lahore. The video also shows Cheteshwar Pujara and Piyush Chawla enjoying an event later on in the video along with numerous cricketers.

There have always been tensions between the two nations that has resulted in India not travelling to Pakistan for any games and vice versa, the two have not played a bilateral series since 2013. 

Back in 2023 during Asia Cup, the tournament was arranged in a hybrid model with India adamant on not travelling to Pakistan. However, there was a big change in this scenario as Pakistan did travel to India for the ODI World Cup 2023. 

If the Indian government allows Team India to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy it will be after 16 years and if at all that doesn't happen then they are likely to produce a similar hybrid model that they did back in 2023.
