[Watch] When Shubman Gill Danced To Caribbean Tunes While Kohli Stood Unmoved

The two-match series in the Caribbean played in July last year may not have provided Shubman Gill a happy initiation as India's new Test match No.3 but gave him ample time to soak in a relaxed atmosphere and dance to the regional tunes. 

Gill was seen dancing to the Caribbean tunes during the first Test of the series played in Dominica while his usually expressive legendary teammate Virat Kohli stood unmoved. The amusing incident is from the first-innings of India's comprehensive win by an innings and 141 runs. 


As West Indies No.11 Jomel Warrican walked up to the crease to face premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Day 1 of the Test match, Gill, who was placed at short-leg, started dancing to the DJ's songs. 

When Gill Danced To Caribbean Tunes 

The youngster went through his act right in front of Kohli, placed in the slips, who curiously stood unmoved, having been the one who usually has the most fun in such instances. Kohli is regularly seen vibing and dancing to the DJ's tunes at cricket matches but perhaps wasn't in the mood on this occasion. 

Being on his first Test tour of the Caribbean, Gill wouldn't even have been aware of the song and its lyrics but was seen relishing the tunes and the beats and shook his leg in fun and humour close-in to the batter after the fall of the ninth wicket in the West Indies' first-innings. 



Usually, it is Kohli who starts off the dancing antics in the middle and encourages Gill to join him. But on this occasion, it was the other way around even as the master batter largely ignored his successor's steps and stood unmoved, perhaps thinking about his turn to bat already. 

The two-Test series was a contrasting one for the great batter and his young teammate. While Kohli made scores of 76 and 121 in his only two innings of the tour, Gill had a poor tour and mustered just 45 runs off his three knocks in the middle.
