The great payday at the inaugural Women's Premier League auction brought riches to many but the highlight of the day was the opening batter Smriti Mandhana, who was also the first player sold today.

Starting at the base price of ₹50 Lakhs, Mandhana's bid culminated at a whopping amount of ₹3.40 Crore and was brought the Diageo-owned Royal Challengers Bangalore which incidentally was the highest price for a player.

Moreover, apart from RCB, Mumbai Indians' also went as far as possible for her but couldn't eventually buy her.

However, after her bid was completed, the broadcaster revealed a video of the Indian team celebrating the left-hander's success. To the unversed, the Indian team is currently in South Africa for the Women's T20 World Cup where the Women in Blue defeated Pakistan yesterday.
