In a hard chase of 150, India's Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh stunned Pakistan with their high-class approach taking them home with six balls and seven wickets to spare in the T20 World Cup game at Cape Town.

Skipper Maroof dominates the opposition

After choosing to bat first on a sluggish wicket, Pakistan suffered early blow as opener Javeria Khan was dismissed in the second over. And then came in, Bismah Maroof who carried her bat through the innings while seeing the wickets falling at the other end.

Muneeba Ali fell cheaply too for 12, and incoming batter Nida Dar's stay was just two balls long she departed for a duck. But this didn't Maroof from playing sensibly as she was rotating the strike continuously. Later, she was joined by Sidra Ameen who batted 18 balls for her 11 and left at the beginning of 13th over when score was just 68 for 4.

However, then came the twist as Ayesha Naseem came and played a blinder of 43 runs from 25 balls taking on the opposition where she smacked 2 sixes and as many fours. On the other end, skipper Maroof kept her calm and unleashed herself on the right moment to score 68 from 55 balls while staying unbeaten taking the score 149.

Radha Yadav bagged two in her four overs giving away just 21 runs while Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar grabbed one each.

Late Charge takes India home

India's innings started well as openers Yastika Bhatia and Shafali Verma took the charge and kept them in the game. As the overs passed, youngster Shafali didn't let any opportunity go as she survived one LBW call which was overturned.

India lost their first in the sixth over when Bhatia lost her wicket for 17, bringing in the energetic Jemimah Rodrigues. Verma played well for her 33 after which she had to return to pavilion and coming in was Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who couldn't do much apart  as she could only manage 16, which did brought the opposition back into the game.

After which, the duo of Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh joined hands during the crunch situation as match was slipping away from their hands. And as expected, they stayed true to themselves counterattacked the Pakistan side with some magnificent shots all-around the park.

With 28 required off three overs, the game could still have gone anyway but Ghosh thumped Aiman Anwer for three consecutive overs in the eighteenth over which changed the course of the game.

Last two overs required 14 with India finishing the job in the penultimate over as Jemimah smacked three more fours in the over, bringing her fifty and the side's victory. Also, they stitched a 58-run stand hurting the neighbours badly.

Nashra Sandhu was the only one who looked a problem for Women in Blue as she recorded figures of 2/15 in her four overs.
