Veteran Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja showcased his extraordinary fielding skills in the first ODI against Australia as he executed a sensational catch to dismiss the visitors' mainstay Marnus Labuschagne.
The incident took place in the 23rd over of the Australian innings when Labuschagne and Josh Inglis were trying to form a consolidating stand.
Despite Kuldeep Yadav's poor start with the ball, Indian captain Hardik Pandya persisted with him at one end.
The wrist-spinner stood up to the challenge, and after drawing Labuschagne forward on his third delivery, he induced an edge in the next one by pushing him on the back foot.
As the ball was travelling, it needed an exceptional effort from Jadeja, who successfully grabbed it through a full-stretched dive.
Jadeja has been effective with the ball so far, scalping the vital wicket of well-set Mitchell Marsh.
After recording a 2-1 win in the Tests, hosts India would be keen to continue their dominance in the three-match ODI series.
In the ongoing Mumbai ODI, the Men in Blue have pushed Australia to the corner, thanks to a clinical performance from their bowlers, especially Mohammed Shami.
As a result, Australia, who were put into bat first after losing the toss, are reeling at 184 for seven in 31.3 overs at the time of writing.
