Thanks to Kyle Mayers, Lucknow Super Giants have gotten a blazing start at Mohali. After 6 overs, LSG's score is reading 74-2, where they have hit the Punjab Kings bowlers in all corners of the park. However, among all the shots, one of Kyle Mayers' hits was a league apart from the others.

In the third over of the innings, the hard-hitting Mayers went behind the debutant Gurnoor Brar, smoking him for a mighty hit over midwicket, which landed into the second tier. However, it wasn't just another sixer, as even impressed Shikhar Dhawan, Ravi Bishnoi, Jaydev Unadkat, Avesh Khan, Romario Shepherd and the other players sitting in Lucknow's dugout.

Earlier in the day, Shikhar Dhawan - who returned to take on captain's debut in this game - won the toss and elected to bowl first against Lucknow. However, it didn't turn out to be the most excellent decision to do so in hindsight.

Mayers went past the home bowlers from the word go, and the first who came to his assault was Arshdeep Singh, who got smacked for four boundaries in a single over by the West Indies player.

After that, the southpaw took Kagiso Rabada and Gurnoor for the cleaners. And in no time, he registered his fourth IPL fifty of the season, completing the latest one off just 20 balls.

But, KG Rabada had the last laugh against the LSG opener.

At the time of writing, both LSG openers are back in the hut, with Marcus Stoinis and Ayush Badoni in the middle for the grind.
