In the recent breaking, Bangladesh's stumper and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)'s foreign recruit, Litton Das, has decided to leave the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) midway, citing a medical emergency in his immediate family.
Das joined the Kolkata camp a couple of matches late due to his national commitments. Interestingly, Bangladesh's captain Shakib Al Hasan also opted out of the IPL 2023 and left KKR with no choice but to sign Jason Roy at a higher rate.
It is understood that the stumper-batter has flown back to Bangladesh and will not participate in any stage of the IPL 2023.
Prior to the IPL 2023, the 28-year-old keeper-batter was bought by the two-time champions at his base price of INR 50 Lakhs. And, after joining the KKR squad late, he made his IPL debut against Delhi Capitals at Delhi, but only to get dropped from the team in the very next game.
Das, who was earlier denied to get NOC by the Bangladesh board, is part of the ODI squad for the tour of Ireland starting May 9.
KKR, meanwhile, have yet to make any announcement or replacement. And, after beating Bangalore in an away game will next face Gujarat at Kolkata on Saturday.
