Mayank Yadav has been the find of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The young LSG sensation was given a chance to unleash himself against the Punjab Kings a couple of days ago, and since then he hasn't looked back.

The fiery pacer bagged the Player of the Match award against PBKS, and followed it up with yet another match-winning special against a formidable RCB team on April 2.

What's interesting about Mayank is his ability to generate express pace, without losing control on his lines and lengths. There have been rumours circulating that the BCCI selectors might even consider him for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

In a latest video surfaced on social media, wherein Mayank narrates how he almost made his LSG debut in 2022, but an unfortunate injury to his teammate, derailed his debut.

Mayank on his LSG journey

"Had a chance to debut a couple of times in 2022. The way I was bowling, everyone was impressed, including Gautam Gambhir sir and the coach of LSG. But because of certain circumstances, I was not able to make my LSG debut.

Ahead of our last league game against KKR, Rahul (bhai) came up to me and said that, be ready, you are making your IPL debut. However, unfortunately, a player got injured, and the team combination was such that they need a like-to-like replacement, and they brought in a different player in the playing XI."

The two year long wait was eventually fruitful for Mayank as he announced his arrival with breath-taking performances in his first two IPL matches. It will be interesting to see how things pan out for the youngster in the upcoming matches. An Indian bowler with a pace in excess of 150 is a rare commodity and the young pacer needs to look after his body.
