Young Rajasthan Royals batter Yashasvi Jaiswal came out with all guns blazing and stunned the mighty Chennai Super Kings with his flamboyant stroke play in the 37th match of the IPL 2023 tonight. However, the stylish southpaw survived a close LBW shout during the course of his sensational knock, as CSK lost a valuable DRS upon the legendary MS Dhoni failing to anticipate the trajectory of the ball correctly.

The incident occurred in the fourth over when Dhoni introduced his ace spinner Maheesh Theekshana into the attack after Jaiswal gave RR a brisk start by hammering CSK's opening bowlers, particularly Akash Singh.

After conceding a single to Jos Buttler, Theekshana was able to beat Jaiswal's bat, as the ball hit his front pad. CSK players, including skipper MS Dhoni, appealed, with the umpire eventually disappointing them and declaring the batter not out.

Following that, Dhoni confidently went upstairs, feeling that the ball would pitch in line and hit the stumps.

However, the legendary keeper-batter was astonished after hawk eye confirmed that the ball was pitched outside leg. Thus, the Dhoni Review System, as they say it considering the CSK captain's incredible ability to turn DRS decisions in his favour, malfunctioned, costing his side a valuable review tonight.

Riding on Jaiswal's magnificent fifty, RR have got a tremendous start in the game. As of writing the report, the hosts are 105 for 1 in 11.1 overs, with Jaiswal and Sanju Samson batting on 63* and 8*, respectively.
